Thanksgiving-day

HARVEST FESTIVALS

In the past, the success of the harvest determined the survival of the population. In many cultures, it was traditionally the time to celebrate abundance and give thanks. The ancient Romans and Egyptiaens celebrated harvest festivals to honour the gods protecting the crops. The first Thanksgiving was born as a way to thank for the products of the earth. In 1621 the Pilgrims left England and sailed to America on a ship called “The Mayflower”.
